Ralf Schäfer
 earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Münster, Germany in 1976. He joined Philips Research Labs in Aachen in 1977, gathering experience on halogen and HID light sources. After a variety of positions in the Philips Lighting organisation, Ralf Schäfer became Head of Xenon Development within Philips in 1990. Following positions have been Global Headlighting Development Manager in 1995, Global Headlighting Product Marketing Manager in 1999 and Business Manager Headlighting from 2005 till 2009 all based in Aachen.
Finally he became Vice President for OEM Marketing.
He retired in December 2011 and since then works as a freelance consultant.

Hector Fratty was between 1994 and 2006 the R&D Director of Valeo Lighting Systems.
He left Valeo to launch Driving Vision News ( DVN ),  the « Automotive Lighting and Driver Assistance Industries » journal as «  Tech- Watch WebSide  & Community  Communication Platform  assistance symposium in France. 2012's VISION Congress brought 400 experts from around the world and 25 technology demonstration vehicles were presented.
Hector is also a member of the ISAL steering committee, which guides and administers the ISAL international symposium.
